Ramadan… Spiritual Breezes and a New Beginning
The blessed month of Ramadan is approaching—a month of mercy and forgiveness eagerly awaited by hearts longing for the spiritual atmosphere and faith-filled moments that fill the soul with tranquility. It is a month in which rewards are multiplied, a time to draw closer to Allah through fasting, prayer, and refining the self through patience and kindness.
How Do We Prepare for Ramadan?
1. Planning Acts of Worship in Advance
Before the holy month begins, a Muslim should set a clear plan to make the most of its days and nights through acts of worship such as completing the Qur’an, increasing supplications, and maintaining Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers.
2. Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness
Ramadan is a great opportunity for self-accountability, repentance from sins, seeking Allah’s forgiveness, and opening a new page filled with sincerity and obedience.
3. Preparing the Heart and Spirit
Through frequent remembrance of Allah and Qur’an recitation before Ramadan begins, the heart becomes ready to receive its blessings with purity and clarity.
4. Kindness Toward Others
Ramadan is the month of generosity. It is a chance to spread goodness by feeding the needy, giving charity, or helping family and neighbors.
5. Organizing Time and Maintaining Balance
It is important to create a balanced schedule that allows one to perform acts of worship without neglecting work or study responsibilities, while ensuring adequate rest and sleep.
Ramadan… A School of Faith
Ramadan is not merely abstaining from food and drink—it is a spiritual school that teaches patience, self-control, compassion for others, strengthening family bonds, and spreading kindness and love. It is an opportunity for positive change, so that we emerge from it stronger, more faithful, and more determined to obey Allah.
Salmān al-Fārsī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever provides food for a fasting person to break his fast will earn forgiveness for his sins and protection from the Hellfire, and will receive the same reward as the fasting person without diminishing the fasting person’s reward in the least.”
The Companions said: “O Messenger of Allah, not all of us have what we can give to a fasting person.”
He replied:
“Allah grants this reward to those who offer even a sip of milk, a date, or a drink of water. And whoever gives a fasting person a full meal, Allah will give him a drink from my Basin after which he will never feel thirst until he enters Paradise.”
“Double Your Reward” Ramadan Campaign
In the spirit of generosity and solidarity that Ramadan encourages, Al-Rakeezeh Foundation continues its charitable efforts through the “Double Your Reward” Campaign in its 10th consecutive season.
The campaign aims to support families in need and bring joy to their hearts through a variety of humanitarian initiatives—including the distribution of food baskets, organizing iftar meals for fasting individuals, and carrying out donation drives and aid programs for vulnerable families.
